What is live today
Motion runs on Robinhood Chain Testnet with testnet ETH that has no cash value. A paid match escrows both bets, settles each round against a live exchange price, and credits the winner on chain.
Testnet, and settling for real
Everything in these docs describes the rules as the contract enforces them. Where a piece is not wired up yet, it is named on this page rather than implied to be working.
Working today
A free room costs nothing but a signature
Creating, joining, readying and picking are signed messages rather than transactions, so a wallet holding nothing at all can play a full match. Only a paid room needs ETH, which on this chain pays for both the bet and the gas. A free match is not ranked: nothing was put up, so there is nothing for the board to weigh.
Two devices play one match
A round's candle is claimed once on the server's clock, and both players read that same claim back. Picks are recorded on the server and stay sealed until the deadline. Neither player can be shown a different price from the other, or learn their opponent's call early.
Your record follows your wallet
A match with a bet is recorded from the escrow's settlement, so your record is the same on every device, and anyone can look it up.
Rounds settle on a live feed
A crypto round is judged on one-second candles relayed from Binance and OKX, and the exchange a round was pinned to is recorded with the result. So a settled round can be checked against that exchange's own chart.
Not yet
Free matches stay on the device that played them
A free match is saved only in the browsers that played it, so it does not follow you to another device and is not on your public record.
The market list is built in
The list of markets ships with the app rather than coming from a live feed of listings.
Only crypto can be played
Football and CSGO rooms are listed as coming soon. They open once a feed can settle their results.
